What are Slovak transit plates (C)?

Slovak transit plates (marked as “C”) allow legal driving within Slovakia before the vehicle is permanently registered. They are most commonly used for technical inspections and administrative steps required for registration.

When do you need them?

Slovak transit plates are necessary if you need to:

• complete STK and EK (technical and emissions inspection),
• carry out KO (originality check),
• finalize the vehicle registration process at the traffic department.

Why are they practical?

• allow you to drive legally on Slovak roads,
• provide a temporary solution until permanent plates are issued,
• useful for both car importers and everyday drivers.
