Oakley Meta proti RayBan Meta: Zakaj RayBan zmaga pri vidljivosti LED?

Smart glasses have come a long way, and both Oakley Meta (limited edition) and RayBan Meta are impressive devices. However, when it comes to something as simple — but essential — as the recording status LED indicator, RayBan clearly takes the lead.
LED Indicator Visibility
On the RayBan Meta, the recording LED is easy to see thanks to the black frames. The LED itself shines in white, creating a sharp contrast that makes it clear when the glasses are recording. Whether you’re indoors or outside, you can quickly confirm the status with just a glance.
By contrast, the Oakley Meta limited edition uses white frames, which is where the problem begins. Since the LED is also white, it completely blends into the frame. In many situations, the light is practically invisible from the wearer’s perspective.
Frame Shape and LED Position
The shape of the Oakley Meta glasses makes this even worse. If you wear the glasses close to your nose and eyes (as most people naturally do), the LED is blocked from view entirely. You can’t rely on visual confirmation at all. Instead, you’re forced to depend on sound cues or ask someone nearby if the external LED is blinking — and that’s not always practical.
- In a noisy environment, audio cues are unreliable.
- If no one is around to check, you’re left guessing.
The only workaround is to slightly pull the glasses forward from your face, check the LED, and then push them back again — or simply rely on intuition and memory to know whether the press you made just started or stopped recording.
Razsodba
While the Oakley Meta limited edition looks stylish, RayBan Meta offers the more functional design when it comes to usability. Being able to clearly see the recording LED indicator without second-guessing is a small but critical detail. For now, if you care about quick and reliable feedback during recording, RayBan Meta is the better choice.
