Get back into your Meta account if it’s disabled or restricted

This article has information for getting back into your Meta account. Visit the Facebook Help Centre or Instagram Help Centre for help with those accounts.

If your account hasn’t followed our Code of Conduct for Virtual ExperiencesSupplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Terms of Service or the Meta Terms of Service, it may be disabled or restricted.

If your Meta account is disabled or restricted, you’ll see a message telling you when you try to log in.

You may be able to request a download of your Meta account information by following the instructions on the notification screen.

What to do if you think your account was disabled or restricted by mistake

If you think your account was disabled or restricted by mistake, you may be able to ask us to review the decision. After logging in, follow the on-screen instructions to submit your appeal.

If you do not appeal within the specified time, you will no longer be able to request a review of your account.

Bear in mind that in some cases we may not issue a warning before restricting your account. We also can’t restore accounts that were disabled for severe violations.

What to do if you don’t see a notification

If you can’t see a notification telling you that your account was disabled or restricted, you may be experiencing a login issue.

If you’re having trouble logging in, you can learn how to do things such as reset your password or manage the email address associated with your account.
