How to use WhatsApp on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses

Ray-Ban Meta are smart glasses launched in partnership between Meta and EssilorLuxottica. Learn more about Ray-Ban Meta on the Meta abikeskus.

You can link WhatsApp to Ray-Ban Meta to send and reply to messages, and to make, answer and decline calls.

You can also share your view from your glasses camera to those you’re calling.

You can allow Assistant to announce when you receive messages and read them out loud in English, French and Italian.

How to link and unlink WhatsApp

Link WhatsApp to Ray-Ban Meta

1. Open the Meta View app on your phone.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Helistamine ja sõnumite saatmine
4. Or tap your glasses, then tap Helistamine ja sõnumite saatmine.
5. Tap Ühendage kõrval WhatsApp.

Unlink WhatsApp from Meta View on Ray-Ban Meta

1. Open the Meta View app on your phone.

How to use WhatsApp features

Send a text-based message

1. Say “Hey Meta, send a message to [name] on WhatsApp”.
2. Listen and confirm with Meta Assistant that you’ve selected the correct person.
3. Say the message that you want to send.

5. Say “Yes”, “No”, or “Cancel”.

Set up message announcement and read out

You can use Meta Assistant to announce who’s messaging you and to read out your messages.

1. Open the Meta View app on your phone.
2. Tap your profile photo.
3. Tap Helistamine ja sõnumite saatmine.
4. Or tap your glasses, then tap Helistamine ja sõnumite saatmine.
5. Tap WhatsApp, then turn Teatada sõnumeid või Read out messages on or off.

Märkus:

• If you don’t hear message announcements when the toggle is on, make sure you’ve provided Bluetooth permission in your phone’s settings.
• If you turn Read out messages on, you’ll still need to say “Hey Meta, play message” to play voice messages.

About your privacy

When you use WhatsApp on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, your calls and personal messages are secured with end-to-end encryption. To protect your privacy, as soon as it’s identified that you’re sending a message or making a call, audio content is not sent to Meta servers. Various factors can affect accuracy, such as the clarity of your voice command that indicates the start of a message. No one outside of the chat, not even WhatsApp or Meta, can read, listen to, or share them.
